Istanbul has several markets most of which specialize in certain kinds of product lines. The Grand Bazaar (or Covered Market) is the largest such market in Turkey. It offers a wide variety of objects, many of them handicrafts that would appeal to tourists.
The Egyptian (Spice) Market of the city is popular for its dried fruits and spices. There are countless street markets too that sell articles even on Sundays, unlike the bigger bazaars that remain closed. |
