The Sacred Tooth Relic is the left canine tooth of Buddha. The tooth arrived in Sri Lanka from India in the 4th Century and is enshrined in a gold casket. The Sacred Tooth (Dalada) is the only surviving relic of Buddha and as such, is the most revered objects of the Buddhist religion. The Sacred Tooth is housed at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, the most famous Buddhist temple in the world.
