The Queen's Hotel in Kandy was built by the British in the 1890s

The Queen's Hotel was initially a Governor's Mansion by the British, much like Mount Lavinia Hotel in Colombo. Like that hotel, the Queen's Hotel is considered one of the grandest buildings in Kandy. The hotel is extremely close to the Temple of the Tooth, and the famous Buddhist procession, Esala
