Street Scene, Kandy, Ceylon.

Kandy was the ancient highland capital of Ceylon

Kandy is 115 km inland from Colombo, and nearly half a kilometer above sea level, providing a cooler climate than much of the rest of Sri Lanka. Kandy was home to the last of the Sinhalese Kings Sri Vikram Rajasinghe who ruled from 1798-1815, until he was deposed by the British.
