The cinnamon tree is native to Sri Lanka and cinnamon trees in the country have long been regarded as the finest in the world. Along with cinnamon, early traders to Colombo came for elephants, peacocks, pearls and precious stones. Arabs, Chinese, Indians, Persians and other merchant traders took these good
