A traditional village, or Bario, would often be established near a river or stream in the Philippines
|
 |
This village displays all the typical traits of traditional Filipino buildings. Roofs are steeply pitched, and natural materials like bamboo, nipa grass and wood have been used. The elevation of the structures served several purposes: for good air flow, to prevent access to snakes, and to safeguard against flooding. |
