Church at Pagsanjan

A historic Catholic church built in the late 17th century in Laguna Province on the Island of Luzon

The church in Pagsanjan was built of bamboo and nipa in 1688. This adobe stone structure of lime and carabao (buffalo) milk cement, replaced the original in 1690. The Mexican-style belfry and Romanesque-inspired dome were later additions. Sadly, this place of worship was destroyed in World War II.
