The church in Pagsanjan was built of bamboo and nipa in 1688. This adobe stone structure of lime and carabao (buffalo) milk cement, replaced the original in 1690. The Mexican-style belfry and Romanesque-inspired dome were later additions. Sadly, this place of worship was destroyed in World War II. The church in Pagsanjan was built of bamboo and nipa in 1688.
