The Library named after Sir Robert Sandeman who in 1874 was sent to improve British relations with the Baloch tribes.
Sibi is a city and district located in Balochistan, Pakistan. The town is now an important junction on the Pakistan railway network, near the entrance of the Bolan Pass, 88 miles southeast of Quetta.
Robert Sandeman is known as the father of British Baluchistan, and did much to conquer and cajole various tribal rulers into what became British Baluchistan, now the Pakistani province of Balochistan. Though sparse in population relative to the country's other three provinces - Punjab, Sindh and the North West Frontier Province - Balochistan accounts for over sixty percent of the country's land mass.
