Sudder Bazar - Rawalpindi

The main bazaar in the army town built by the British after their conquest of Punjab in the mid-19th century

Saddar Bazar remains the central market in Rawalpindi today. It flows into the Mall Road on one side. This popular 19th and early 20th century view was likely taken from a clock tower that flanks it.

Little has changed in the bazaar, except that it is much more crowded. Many taller buildings
