The Lahore High Court was established on March 21, 1919. The Lahore High Court has such jurisdiction as is conferred on them by the Constitution or by law (Article 175(2) of the 1973 Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan). Article 199 of the Constitution of 1973 deals with the extra-ordinary jurisdiction of the High Courts.
Lahore High Court is the oldest superior Court in the country and its predecessors Court have been providing justice since 1866. Presently, Lahore High Court stands established by virtue of article 175 of Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It has its principal seat at Lahore and three benches at Rawalpindi, Multan and Bahawalpur.
