The Kotri Bridge was constructed to connected Kotri to Hyderabad about 100 miles north of Karachi. The one-way railway track is still in use and cars ply on either side of the track.
The image shown here was likely made soon after its opening by R. Jalbhoy, a prominent photographer and painter from Karachi who masterfully frames the bridge with an old sailboat which the bridge replaced. |
