The Shrine of Gaudamas Tooth in Mandalay, Myanmar (formerly Burma).
Mandalay is Myanmar's second largest city, its last royal capital and the cultural and religious center of Buddhism. It includes countless Buddhist monasteries and more than 700 pagodas. The world's official "Buddhist Bible" -- the world's largest book -- can be found at the foot of Mandalay Hill inside the Kuthodaw Pagoda. The entire Buddhist canon is inscribed in stone on slabs housed in individual white stupas. The link below takes you to Rudyard Kipling's famous and controversial poem "Mandalay."
