The sacred site upon which the gold-and-precious-gem-embedded Shwedagon Pagoda was built
The Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar is made of gold and precious stones. The lower of the stupa is plated with over 8,600 solid gold bars. The upper part is said to have over 13,000 gold bars.
