The gilded stupa of Shwe Dagon Pagoda draws many travelers
A pair of giant mythical lions stand guard at the entrances of Shwe Dagon Pagoda. The base of the stupa is built of bricks covered with gold plates. Terraces above this base could only be accessed by monks.
