The northeastern sector of Mohenjo-daro, excavated by K. N. Dikshit, is called the DK-G area. Pathways let visitors reach the site of the excavation. An unexcavated part of the site in the right foreground indicates what the place looked like before the excavation. The large levee in the background acts as a protective barrier for the site so that the encroaching floods of the Indus River do not damage the site. |
