Dr. G. F. Dales of the University of California, Berkeley conducted UM area excavations in 1964-65. These excavations exposed a big mud brick platform that was used to elevate some brick buildings several meters above the street level. This can be seen in the foreground. The street was roughly seven meters wide extending north south along the border of HR Area at plain level. Looking south, clear indications of some buildings located to the west of the street can be seen. However, most structures have been eroded to plain level, visible in the background.  |
