There were two wide staircases to enter the Great Bath, from the south and north

At the foot of the stairs, a small ledge with a brick edging can be seen that runs the complete width of the pool. People who came down the stairs could easily move along this ledge without stepping into the pool. The edges of the stairs had small sockets that might have held either wooden planks or treads. |
