Debris from the excavations at Mohenjo-daro pose a threat to the conservation of the ruins

Earth and debris dug up from the streets and houses of DK-I area were dumped directly on sections of the un-excavated mound, making it hard to spot where the original mound ends and where the pile of debris begins. Valuable information related to craft activities that were once conducted in DK-I houses are detected to be eroding due to the dirt that was not screened or carefully examined by the previous excavators. |
