Firewood and camels are still transported short distances via the Indus River
Due to the construction of barrages and dams on the Indus River, long distance travel by water is no longer a feasible option. However, transportation of firewood and other daily necessities is still done via the river-route. Camels carrying grain use the ferry boat to cross the river while the ox cart waits for passengers coming from the other side of the river. A large pile of wood is also kept ready to be shipped downstream.
