Yomeimon Gate owes its name to one of the twelve gates of the former Imperial court in Kyoto. The crafts and decoration of the Yomeimon Gate imbue the whole structure great aesthetic appeal. This gate has more than 500 beautiful sculptures, and the craftsmanship used to render it is extremely elaborate. It was built in the 17th century. |
