A cart is a vehicle using two wheels and normally one horse, designed for transport. A wagon is a heavy transport vehicle with four wheels and normally at least two horses. Other animals like oxen or donkeys are sometimes used instead of a horse.
Carts have been mentioned in literature. In the Indian
sacred book Rigveda, it states that men and women are as equal as two wheels of a cart. Hand -carts pushed by humans have been used around the world. Hampi is a village in northern Karnataka, on the banks of the Tungabhadra River in India. Hampi is located within the ruins area of Vijayanagara. It was the former capital of the Vijayanagara empire. |
