Kovalam is a beach town located on the Arabian Sea in Kerala state in south India. It is located 16 km outside Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) city in the Thiruvananthapuram district. There are a number of beach resorts in and around Kovalam. Kovalam was among the most popular tourist spots in India during
the hippie era and still has a high status among tourists. Kovalam has several Ayurvedic salons and resorts. The sands on the beaches in Kovalam are partially black due to the presence of ilmenite and thorazite. There are two main beaches in Kovalam, separated by a high cliff.
Kerala is a state on the Western Coast of south-western India. In east and north-east, Kerala borders Tamil Nadu state and Karnataka state, to it's west lies the Arabian Sea and to it's south the Indian Ocean islands of Lakshadweep and the Maldives, respectively. The Kerala State of India is popular for backwaters. Kerala is a very beautiful state in south of India. It has lots of green areas and sea waters resources. Kerala envelops Mahe, a coastal exclave of Pondicherry. Kerala is one of four states that make the linguistic-cultural region known as South India. |
