The Gateway of India was built to commemorate the royal visit of George V. and Queen Mary in 1911, but only completed in 1924. It is a combination of European and Indian ceremonial architecture. The last
British troops marched out through Gateway of India, when India became independent in 1947. There is a park near Gateway of India, where many people of Mumbai spend their time. Mumbai is new name of Bombay, and it is the capital of Maharashtra State of India. It is also called the finance capital of India. It has several industries including Bollywood. the film industry of India.  |
