In India, water carriers play an important role in supplying water at the doorsteps of many households. Due to unplanned use of water by the people, the water level in many areas has either receded or is contaminated by sewage. For these people, the water carriers come as a great relief, with their supply of cleaner water. Though the country has taken steps to ensure that its people get pure water that is safe to drink and use, disparity in coverage still exists. As a result of this, finding water carriers with their vessels filled with water, is a common sight in the country.  |
