[Original caption] The Taj, Agra. The beautiful gardens in which this exquisite mausoleum stands are laid out in formal style. The principal approach, which has a marble watercourse, interrupted in the middle by a marble platform, leads directly to the Taj, which rises in all its peerless beauty at the end, its marble walls, dome and minarets mirrored in the water below.
