The Mutiny Monument is on Delhi's Rani Jhansi Road. The Rani of Jhansi was one of the leaders who fought against the British in what is known in India as the First War of Independence, not the Mutiny. After Independence in 1947 it was re-dedicated to all the martyrs of India's freedom struggles and renamed as the Ajitgarh in 1972 when India celebrated its 25th anniversary of Independence. |
