Hotel Cecil was situated on Rajniwas Marg in Delhi's Civil Lines area. This hotel was located in an 11 acre park. There were more than hundred rooms, a swimming pool and lush green lawns at Hotel Cecil. The American siblings Mr. Hotz and Ms. White sold this property to the Patna Province of the Society of Jesus. The Commissioner of Delhi, on the request of the Society, granted it permission to convert the property into a residential school for boys. Finally, on January 6, 1960, St. Xavier's School was inaugurated at the place where once Hotel Cecil existed. |
