The Memorial Church in Kanpur is also called "All Soul's Cathedral"
The Gothic styled structure of Kanpur Memorial Church, made of red brick, was erected in 1875 in the memory of the Britishers who died during the 1857 Sepoy Mutiny. Walter Granville, an architect who worked for the East Bengal Railway, designed the former Cawnpur church.
The Kanpur Memorial Church has stained glass windows. Several monuments of the 1857 Sepoy Mutiny and memorial tablets can be seen in the interiors of All Soul's Cathedral. On the eastern side of the church is the Memorial Garden. The center of this garden has a beautiful statue of an angel by Baron Carlo Marochetti. This statue stands as a symbol of peace. In this garden, there is also a carved gothic screen that was designed by Henry Yule.
