In fact, the bazaars of Mumbai showcase the vibrant and ethnically diverse faces of the city, and have done so since the city began its rise in the mid-19th century. The even then relatively crowded bazaars in the city were common early postcard subjects, and helped convey the commercial nature of the city to the world. |
