Peking. Hata men

The striking Hata Men Gate in Peking was named after the Mongol prince Hata who resided in a nearby palace.

The Hata Men Gate, formally known as Ch'ung-Wen Men, was part of a network of city walls and gates. The government began tearing down the wall in the 1950s, and by the late 1960s, the wall and the gates were leveled to widen boulevards in Peking. The final tearing down of this gate apparently happened in
