Chien-Men or Qienmen Street in Peking is one of the oldest shopping districts in China.
As early as 1206, during the Yuan Dynasty, Peking was known as a center for commerce. One of the city's ten main shopping districts is Chien-Men (Qienmen) Street. It is famous for its shops that specialize in Chinese medicine, silks and teas. One of its oldest stores is Ruifuxiang Silk and Cotton Fabric Shop that has been in business for over 120 years. The shop sells more than 10,000 different types of textiles.
