The Bund is an international district in Shanghai that once served as a financial hub for all of East Asia.

Originally established by the British in the 19th century, the Bund along the Huangpu River in Shanghai is once again becoming one of the major promenades in the world, a worthy competitor to Times Square in New York. Largely rebuilt in recent years, the older art-deco buildings from the 1930s are occupied by major financial institutions, while across the Huangpu River some of the world's tallest buildings present an imposing view any time of the day or night. While the Bund is more crowded than ever before, it still offers a charming stroll between two centuries. |
