Ezra was a Jewish priest of the 5th century BCE. It is believed that he led almost 5,000 Jews to Jerusalem from Babylon. Ezra played a huge role in reforming Judaism. He was a scholar and a scribe, often credited as the writer of the Biblical books of Nehemiah and Ezra.  |
